Building a wheel hub

This a new type for me, here's how to make one
Its an alternative to using a solid chunk of metal.

1)
Ok, startwith a metal strap, this one is about 1/16" or
so thick, markit at about 3cm and 4cm.

2)
Put it in a vise and bend it over, I use a hammer to help
make it a good bend

3)
Done first bend.

4)
Now start the second bend, you can't go too far before
you have to regrip.

5)
This is how I regrip it for the rest of the bend
I sloted the jaws in my vise just for stuff like
this.

6)
There, both bends are done.

7)
Cut off the short side with enough room for your shaft.

>8)
Always file your cut edges.

9)
Drill pilot holes for the shaft and the anchor (anchor to the left )

10)
Drill out to shaft size, mine is 15/64.

11)
Here you can see the pilot hole for the anchor.

12)
Here the shaft hole is drilled and I'm drilling the anchor hole, I'm
drilling this 5/32 so to be just a little big for  a 6-32 set screw.

13)
Then drill a 7/64" hole in the end for the set screw, this is pilot drill.

14)
Then drilled out to full size

15)
Then thread it for the set screw.

16)
Here is the piece finished.

17)
Slip over shaft and mark shaft for a flat for the set screw

18)
There is the flat filed in the shaft.

19)
Put in the set screw.

20)
Put in the anchor screw.

21)
Sit back and admire work.

22)
Make a Howto on how you did it.
