Step 1)
Prepair you bread board with power like so:

Place a LED in the breadboard like so:

Step3)
The led had a 'flat' on one side, this side goes to negitive. Put a wire from that side to negitive, like so:

Step 4)
Put a 1K (stripes go brown, black, red, gold)
resistor from the other terminal of the LED to positive. Something like
this:
