Revision # 0, Dielect # 0 Practicality: -------------- Since when is my work practical? I wanna controll my lights by voice control. Intentions: ------------ This is intended for applications where vocal communication with a device is desired, but the processing power of a full voice recognition system is not an option. It is not intended to be a system usable for day to day chatting, just enough basics to "comfortably" controll the machines we live with. It is expected that the processing power for such systems will grow over time, and therefore the phoname set (and with that the protocols capabilities) must be exapndable. Goal: ------ To define a human audioble, vocal communication protocol suitable for use with simplistic computerized devices. To define an expandable set of phonames in such a way that they are generic enough to be recognized independently of the speaker. No training may be required to recognize phonames. This protocol shall be platform independent. Fluf: ------------- The following versions of the protocol allow for the following types of communications: - Command (Ver 1.*) - Question (Ver 2.*) - Statement (Ver 3.*) (versions are additive, version 2 would support both commands and questions, etc) Human vocal Details: -------------------- Vocal chords: Frequincy Range: Frequincy Slew Rate: Rise/Fall time: Noise: Spectrum Width: Whistles: Frequincy Range: Frequincy Slew Rate: Rise/Fall time: Clicks: ??? Resonance Effects: ??? Pronuncability: Lets face it, some things just cant be pronounced. Reasonable Vocal Shift Times: Chord <-> Noise Chord <-> Whistle Chord <-> Click Noise <-> Whistle Noise <-> Click Whistle <-> Click Repeditive stress failures: Examples: "peter picked a peck of pickled peppers" "she sits selling sells sea shells by the sea shore in sechelt" Memorability: Lets face it if you cant remember what to tell it, being able to talk to it isn't of much use. Grammer: -------- Noun: Objective 0 1 . . . 9 Verb: (Action) activate deactivate help undo pronoun: noun description adverb: noun modifier Words: ------ Words are contructed via 3 phonames Atoms: Constructs: Vocalization: ------------- Aspirations: Phonames: Dimentions: Phonames have the following dimentions: - Amplitude - Frequincy - Frequincy Width (spectrum width) - Phase There are 4 phonames, they are: ----------------- _- R -_ D / U \ D _... E ..._ B ... S Rich
